Hey it's that time of year again! Time to hit the water! Here are a few things to remember when getting your rig out for the first time this year-
Test run your motor. Make sure batteries are fully charged.
Make sure your registration and trailer license are up to date. ( I was always guilty of missing this! Once my trailer license plate was expired for 3 years before I noticed! OOPS!)
Check your trailer tires. Air em up and look for cracks from sitting up over the Winter.
Also check your trailer lights and wiring. Getting stuck at night repairing trailer lights is a pain.
Check out your PFDs. Make sure they are all in good shape.
Check your onboard fire extinguisher. Those things go bad way too fast.
Test your boats horn/whistle.
If you are going fishing for the first time this year, you may want to replace the line on your rods. It can dry rot
Make sure your boat insurance is up to date! Of course I am gonna list this. LOL.
